Emmelev A/S has today announced a new composition of the Board consisting of four members, two of whom are new. One of them, Christian Junker, is the new Chairman of the Board.

The new board is composed of experienced profiles with different competencies in the food and agro industry.

New to the Board of Directors is Christian Junker, who has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board. He can look back at a long career in the business world, including CEO of the agricultural group Danish Agro. Christian Junker is today active in a large number of boards within the agricultural industry in Denmark and abroad.

Also new to the board is Asbjørn Børsting, who has been CEO of the Danish Agricultural Council, CEO of DLG and director of the industry organization Dakofo until spring 2025. He is also chairman of the Danish agricultural company FirstFarms.

"I am very pleased to welcome the new board. The expertise and experience will be invaluable for Emmelev A/S in the continuing development and growth, and we look forward to a close and constructive collaboration," says CEO Morten Simonsen and continues:

"The Emmelev Group has become a more complex company in the recent years. After the fire in 2022, we have spent up to DKK 300 million on the reconstruction and expansion of the rapeseed mill."

In addition, Emmelev has just entered into an agreement to increase its ownership stake in the Lithuanian- and Latvian-based Agerona Group from 50 to 100 percent. Final approval of the transaction is now awaiting the Danish Competition Authority before a final takeover can take place.

In the future, the total group turnover will amount to DKK 4 billion, which is why there is a need to expand the competencies of the Board of Directors.

Morten Simonsen and Erling Simonsen will continue as board members.

Inconnection with the changes, Bjarne Simonsen will step down as CEO and Chairman of the Board after more than 50 years in the position.

The newboard will take office immediately.
